CONVERSION OF INDUSTRIAL BUILDING TO COMMERCIAL COMMUNITY CENTRE

Project Responsibility: Principal Contractor
Location: Newcastle
Project Completion: 9 weeks
Project Description:

This industrial building was partially converted into a community centre for a charitable institution. Internal demolition and complete internal refurbishment were carried out as the first phase of the project.

The external works included replacement of asbestos roof sheets with insulated roof panels. Moreover, asbestos was also removed from within the building. The internal work incorporated the installation of a concrete floor, fire protection, ceilings, walls and complete renovation of the phased part of the building as well as the mechanical and electrical works.

The 16-week programme of works was achieved ahead of schedule in nine weeks. The major reason for this was due to the client’s request to be able to host upcoming Christmas events. The Vertex Design & Build team worked extreme hours to achieve the client’s programme successfully. The works were completed on 20th December. The client was extremely pleased with the service.
